Papers, 1813-1868.

The collection consists primarily of correspondence between Ingle and his wife, Martha, and relatives in England. The letters discuss a variety of subjects, including the differences between life in America and England, as well as politics, religion, and economic and business matters. Also included are letters of John Ingle, Jr., to relatives in England, and an account of John Ingle's visit to Morris Birbeck's Illinois settlement in 1818.

John Ingle emigrated from Somersham, England, to America in 1818.
